What is Urgent Care?

Illness and accidents happen.  When they do, Bream Medical has all your urgent care needs covered!  Bream Medical offers treatments beyond what most urgent cares offer because they want to keep patients out of the Emergency Room!

When should I use Urgent Care?

Urgent Care offers many advantages over a traditional Emergency Room or Primary Care visit.  Here are just a few:

  • Quicker access for minor injuries than traditional Emergency Rooms as we work on arrival times, not triage.
  • In-house services like X-Rays allow for more rapid diagnosis than a traditional Primary Care visit.
  • No appointments necessary

Urgent Care Services

Bream Medical offers the following urgent care services:

Performed by certified X-ray technologists as opposed to certified medical assistants at many urgent cares.  As such, Bream Medical’s image quality is much higher.

Bream Medical’s provider all have extensive Emergency Medicine experience.  As such, we have increased comfort comparing lacerations than other urgent cares who may send you to the ER.

Bream Medical’s providers extensive Emergency Medicine experience allows us to perform abscess and drainage with increased comfort compared to other urgent cares

QuantiFERON gold testing offered at a cheaper price than our competitors

Drug tests vary, depending on what types of drugs are being tested for

Convenient and private testing

Physical exams to evaluate for overall health and identify any issues that may need additional treatment.

Private and accurate testing

Also called an ECG, this test is designed to test the electrical activity of the heart.

At Bream Medical we use Quidel Triage to perform 15-minute troponin, d-dimer, and BNP to rapidly determine who we can care for safely in urgent care and who may need to be sent to the ER. 

Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA) testing is as accurate as PCR and less costly.  Why get a less accurate antigen test and then pay for PCR send out when you can have your results in 15 minutes?

Toradol, Lasix, Rocephin, Zofran, Reglan, Solu-Medrol, Kenalog, normal saline, lactated ringers all available in office to help keep you from needing to go to the Emergency Room

Albuterol and DuoNeb treatments available in office to help keep you from needing to go to the Emergency Room

Dr. Bream has provided long COVID consultation to over 1,000 long COVID patients.  He has also authored three peer-reviewed research papers on long COVID. Few, if any, clinics in North Carolina have the experience and knowledge of long COVID that Bream Medical has.  As a non-corporate practice, we can utilize treatments than large, corporate practices cannot and customize your treatment plan.

Bream Medical has negotiated special, cash pricing for labs that are significantly cheaper than is available when using insurance to pay for labs

Salisbury location only

This test is used to detect a wide variety of disorders, including urinary tract infections, kidney disease and diabetes.

Bream Medical offers in-office spirometry assessment to assess your lung function and assess for diseases such as asthma, COPD, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, and assess for COVID-induced lung damage

Yes! However, at this time we currently do not offer maternity/pregnancy care.

A simple urgent care visit may be $99, or a telemedicine visit would be $78. Check out our prices and subscription pages for more information!

You should always go to the ER or call 911 if life or limb are at risk. However, here are some examples of situations that you can come to an Urgent Care for: if your primary care doctor’s office is closed, you have symptoms of a cold or flu, mild sprains and strains, cuts that may need stitches, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea, dehydration, painful urination, etc.
